Speaking in front of assorted souls at the last Hammersmith and Fulham Mind AGM was both scary and rewarding. I’d been to previous AGMs, but only as a spectator.

Even though we had no microphone and I was using a prepared speech, the feeling of holding an audience’s attention and surviving the intense scrutiny from myriad staring eyes, showed me that a little anxiety can be a liberating thing.

So, I urge other Mental Health Consumers to get involved. You get paid for some of the opportunities, and you will get a sense of connection and achievement!

Thank you for your attention.
Mr. Serotonin.
